Preethi Jayawardena, a highly respected finance/management professional has joined the Board of EAP Holdings Ltd, EAP Broadcasting Company Limited and EAP Films and Theatres Limited with immediate effect.
Jayawardena is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and has been a member of its Council between 2004 and 2006. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers.
He was the Managing Director/CEO of Chemanex PLC until 31 March 2013 and currently functions as a Consultant to the Chemanex Group of Companies.
He counts over 35 years of post-qualifying experience both locally and overseas, specialising in finance and treasury operations. He was with Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines for 13 years in many senior positions including the Head of Treasury, managing an International Loan Portfolio of over $ 2 billion. He has presented many papers in various international forums relating to finance, auditing and treasury management.
He is the Chairman of Lanka Rating Agency (formerly RAM Rating) and Commercial Insurance Brokers Ltd. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Commercial Bank PLC and a Group Director of CIC Holdings (PLC) and John Keells Foods PLC.
He is a member of the Monetary Policy Consultants Committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Deputy Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors.
The Board of EAP Holdings Ltd now comprises of Mano Tittawella Chairman/Managing Director, Jeewaka Edirisinghe Deputy Chairman, Deepa Edirisinghe Non-Executive Director, Nalaka Edirisinghe Non-Executive Director, Asanka Edirisinghe Non-Executive Director, Dr. Dayanath Jayasuriya, Non-Executive/Independent Director, Russell de Mel Non-Executive/Independent Director, and Preethi Jaywardena Non-Executive/Independent Director.
