Regional Development Bank relocates Matara City branch

The Regional Development Bank relocated its Matara City branch which was situated on Hakaman Road to a spacious premises at No. 48 Uyanwatta Esplanade Road on Monday (15).

The new branch was opened by Regional Development Bank Chairman Prasanna Premarathne with the participation of Working Director W.A. Priyantha Abeysinghe, Executive Director T.A. Ariyapala, General Manager (Southern Province) Sisil de Silva and a large gathering of customers and well-wishers.

“It is with pride that I inform you that according to the Brand Ratings published two weeks ago the Regional Development Bank has branded as the 40th best brand in the island. We are the only fully state owned development bank which offer attractive deposit schemes and loan schemes has helped you make significant achievements in your enterprises. Due to the stability of the Regional Development Bank the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the European Development Investment Bank has granted us facilities which enable us to offer you

low interest loan facilities. I am grateful to all of you who have stood by us,” said RDB Chairman Prasanna Premarathne in his address.

“We can serve you better at the new spacious premises,” said RDB’s Executive Director A.T. Ariyapala addressing those present at the opening. “The present Matara City branch was established 20 years ago when the bank was known as the Ruhunu Development Bank. Since then the Regional Development Bank has increased its branch network to 268. The bank has assets valued at more than Rs. 100 billion and fixed deposits exceeding Rs. 100 billion and is one of the foremost state-owned development banks in Sri Lanka,” he added.

The Chairman of RDB received the first deposits from Renu Nadira Kotambage and entrepreneur Eric Janaka while 170 persons who had been granted loan facilities were presented with either checks or equipment.03 04 05
