Ruwan Gallage assumes duties as LDB Chairman

33Ruwan Gallage assumed duties as the seventh Chairman of Lankaputhra Development Bank (LDB) head office recently amidst a distinguished gathering.

Gallage addressing the gathering stated that year 2017 would be a challenging year for LDB and to move forward as a development bank the staff should make a bigger sacrifice. The aim of the Government is to provide an efficient service to the small and medium scale entrepreneurs and he is ready to provide the leadership to fulfill that aim, he said, adding that he is also willing to get the support of other institutions as well to fulfill this aim.

A distinguished old boy of Royal College Colombo, Gallage is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, United Kingdom (FCMA). A former Chairman of Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka as well Prime Grameen, he directed these institutions towards success. He is the President of the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA) and the Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Badminton Association.

Gallage has also worked as a Director of Lanka Salusala and Lanka Textile Emporium Ltd. He has also held many positions at the Ministry of Labour. In addition he has over 30 years of experience holding many positions in the Government and private sector. Gallage has also held many positions at Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
