SANASA Development Bank gets new Independent Director

SANASA Development Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Lakshman Abeysekara as an Independent Director to its board with effect from 30 April, subject to Central Bank approval.

Abeysekara is a Chartered Accountant and posses over 20 years experience in the accounting field.

He currently functions as Director/CEO of JanRich Ltd., in addition to being a Director of NovEx Pharmaceuticals Ltd. He is also a Governing Council Member of AAT Sri Lanka and has held the position of CFO at Emerchemie NB (Ceylon) Ltd., Accountant at Hoechst (Ceylon) Ltd., and Senior Accountant at Lankem Ceylon Ltd.

Abeysekara is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka and holds an MBA from the Institute of Postgraduate Management, University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

With this latest appointment, the Board of Directors of SANASA Development Bank PLC now comprises Chairperson M.S. Kiriwandeniya, Directors A.D. Walisinghe, T. Karunasena, D.P. Kumarage, R.M.K. Ratnayake, U.G. Ramawickrama, M. Vidanapathirana, H.M.G.B. Herath and Lakshman Abeysekara. The General Manager and CEO of the bank is M.T. Galgamuwa.
