With a mission to ensure a protected country, Save Your Monkey, an online insurance product comparison platform, was launched last week to make insurance more accessible, convenient and comprehensive.

The core service of the company is the saveyourmonkey.com insurance comparison website which allows consumers to compare multiple insurance quotations and procure a policy within a few minutes, while Save Your Monkey (SYM) Insurance Brokers facilitates the entire process.

Speaking at the event Save Your Monkey Founder and CEO Chathura Jayatissa said that there had been very minimal improvements taking place in Sri Lanka’s insurance industry over the past decade and as  an upcoming brand it believed in achieving simplicity through innovation.

“We believe the digital landscape is the best platform to deliver solutions which will eventually empower every Sri Lankan to take ownership of their life and safety. We give our customers an independent and impartial comparison on all types of insurance policies allowing them to make well-informed decisions,” he added.

The firm has invested over Rs. 40 million on this venture and is looking forward to introducing finance industry related innovative solutions in the near future.

He said that the company believes in collaboration to be an absolute key strategy which is instilled deep within the company’s corporate culture.

Save Your Monkey is currently collaborating with a number of insurance companies such as HNB General, Sri Lanka Insurance, Janashakthi, Union Assurance, LOLC Insurance, Amana Takaful Insurance, Ceylinco VIP and Continental Insurance.  In addition, it has partnered top-tier automobile servicing, transport, technology and communication firms like Laugfs Car Care, Autodrome Plc and Uber to provide value added services to its clientele.

Jayatissa also said that saveyourmonkey.com serves as a knowledge hub that addressed most common concerns of insurance consumers in the country, allowing them to make well-informed decisions on its policies.

Furthermore, the company will soon launch the Save Your Money Roadside assistance app which will provide added assurance to consumers. This novel app will allow vehicle users to receive help during crisis situations such as an accident or breakdown with a simple click of a button. “We will continue to innovate, challenge the status quo and pave the way for other innovators in the market to be noticed,” he added.

Save Your Monkey Director and CFO Dhanushka Liyanage emphasised that being a young team they had much to gain from leveraging on other competencies and services.

“We believe in collaboration, thinking out of the box and structuring products that are not only innovative but also provide a unique value proposition that addresses the need of every consumer,” he noted.
