Savings awareness program for children in Jaffna by SDB

Offering gifts and Rs. 50,000 in hospitalisation insurance coverage

SANASA Development Bank PLC’s Jaffna branch organised a savings awareness program on 13 February.

Jaffna District additional Government Agent P. Senathilnanthan was the Chief Guest. V Srisakthivel, Chairman of Mediation Board, Jaffna and Public Service Pensioner Trust Fund, Jaffna District and V.K.L. Sugumar, Regional Manager, North and East of SDB, were among the respected guests at the ceremony

The main objective was to educate the importance of the savings and to cultivate savings habit from childhood. SDB Lakadru offers an attractive 1% additional rate interest over normal savings. Gift schemes are very popular among the children which offers gifts based on the savings slab. 

One of the attractive gifts is the world map which provides a bundle of information about world countries in a very simple format and has seen high demand among children as well as among parents. Free hospitalisation cover up to Rs. 50,000 offer is very popular especially among parents which helps with children’s health. 

Similarly, SDB has not forgotten children who qualify well at their educational examinations and offers up to Rs. 50,000 cash rewards for Grade 5 Scholarship, O/L and A/L examinations.

This year too SDB has planned to organise Year 5 scholarship seminars in every district, including a number of seminars in Tamil medium.
