A seminar will be held on 20 March from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Hilton Colombo organised by Asian Pathfinder Legal Consultancy Services, to discuss the challenges in treasury management in volatile market conditions.
The seminar looks at recent trends and developments at a global, regional and national level and the implications for Sri Lankan banks, insurance companies, fund managers, companies, lawyers and accountants and includes specialist speakers both from Sri Lanka and overseas.
International specialist in Treasury Management Rajiv Rajendra will speak on ‘Applying Global Best Practices to the Sri Lanka environment: evolving and refining tools and approaches.’ Rajendra is the author of the upcoming ‘Handbook of Global Corporate Treasury’, he currently leads Aktrea, a Singapore-based firm focused on cutting edge consulting and training solutions in risk, treasury and capital markets. He counts over 12 years experience in Treasury and Risk Management with a leading global bank including over two years in Colombo as Head of Treasury. Speakers also include: Industrial Development Board Chairman Udayasri Kariyawasam and former Chairman, Bank of Ceylon, Securities and Exchange Commission and Insurance Board of Sri Lanka who will speak on ‘Strengthening Risk Management: The Way Forward.’ President’s Counsel Dr. Dayanath Jayasuriya will speak on ‘Is Financial Literacy a Must for all Directors? Review of the Impact of new judicial decisions on the Duties of Directors.’
The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion involving the speakers and Chairman of Wealth Trust Securities Mangala Boyagoda and Head – Sales and Structuring of National Asset Management Limited Charana Jayasuriya, the pioneer Unit Trust management company.
