Seminar on IFRS 15: Revenue from Contracts with Customers today

CIMA Sri Lanka will be hosting a technical session on the latest developments of IFRS15: Revenue from Contracts with Customers, and its business impact from a local perspective, on 20 April from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the CIMA Sri Lanka Auditorium. This program is expected to take a comprehensive look at the objectives of IFRS 15, which is to establish the principles that an entity shall apply to report useful information to users of financial statements about the nature, amount, timing and uncertainty of revenue and cash flows arising from a contract with a customer. The standard also provides a single, principles based five-step model to be applied to all contracts with customers. The forum will be presented by Ernst and Young, Sri Lanka Senior Partner/Head of Assurance Manil Jayasinghe and will be aimed at everyone who is involved in financial reporting or the interpretation of financial statements under the International Financial Reporting Standards. The key areas expected to be covered at this forum would include: Overview and Transition to SLFRS 15, Scope and Scope Exception, Basics of the 5 step model, other aspects of the 5 step revenue recognition model, Disclosures and Business Consideration.
