Seminar on private equity funding on 22 January

A useful seminar on ‘Private Equity Funding’ will be held on 22 January from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Taj Samudra Hotel Crystal Ballroom. Organised by Jupiter Capital Partners, the seminar will be relevant for entrepreneurs and managers of high growth businesses especially SMEs. “As a fast growing source of funding for businesses in emerging and developed countries, Private Equity is the most suitable method of funding for high growth businesses – especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) engaged in high value-add manufacturing and service businesses. Private Equity not only promotes entrepreneurship, but also helps entrepreneurs to create wealth which fuels more investments leading to higher economic growth and development,” said a spokesman for organisers Jupiter Capital Partners. The seminar has lined up several top experts to share key insights. Senior Economist and former Director Economic Affairs at The Commonwealth Secretariat Dr Indrajit Coomaraswamy will deliver a Keynote address highlighting the importance of PE in developing SME Sector. Jupiter Capital Partners Managing Director Indika Hettiarachchi and Financial consultant and former Partner LR Global Chanaka Wickramsuriya will do presentations on PE concept and process involved in PE funding. Jupiter Capital partners Director and Strategic Risk Solutions Damith Kurunduhewa will do a detailed presentation about Enterprise Risk Management (including areas like Environmental, health and safety) which has become a very important areas PE investors look before investing in a company. KPMG Sri Lanka Managing partner Reyaz Mihular will talk about company valuation and financial due-diligence – both related to PE investors. FJ & G de Saram Partner Ayomi Aluvihare Gunewardene will make a presentation about legal aspects of a PE deal (including legal due diligence and legal agreements involved in a PE deal) Chairman TWCorp, Digital Commerce Lanka and former Chairman of BOI Thilan Wijesinghe will talk about how to pitch a company to PE investors Founder and former Managing Director Dutch Lanka Trailer Manufacturers Ltd. Dilip Kodikara will share his success story of building a great engineering company and how PE helped him and his company. National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) Director Lakshman Wijeyewardena is also scheduled to talk about importance of technological innovation to develop SMEs.
