Seylan Bank annual report wins silver awards at international competitions

The Seylan Bank 2012 annual report, “It works!” won silver awards each at the recently concluded ARC International Awards and League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) Vision Awards.
The Bank’s 2012 annual report won a silver award for printing and production in the banking category at the ARC International Awards held recently. ARC Awards is one of the largest annual report awards schemes in the world. This year the ARC Awards received a record-breaking 2,260 entries from 34 countries. This awards scheme has been popularly dubbed as the ‘Academy Awards’ of annual reports.
The bank’s 2012 annual report also claimed a silver award at the LACP – Vision Awards. The silver award was won under the banking category - commercial. The 2012 LACP Vision Awards competition drew over 6,000 entries across the world.
The 2012 annual report, ‘It works!’ has been extremely transparent in terms of the strategies and action plans implemented together with their successes achieved by the bank since 2009.
In the recent past, the bank’s annual reports (2009 - The Case Study, 2010 - The Business Case, 2011 - North Bound and 2012 – It works!) have taken a unique identity of their own among readers for their reporting in story form, and have enjoyed a winning streak year on year, both locally and internationally.
Commenting on these awards, Seylan Bank Chief Financial Officer Ramesh Jayasekara said: “The silver awards won at the ARC International Awards and LACP Vision Awards are undoubtedly a strong testament and recognition of the bank’s commitment towards responsible reporting to its stakeholders.”
