Seylan Bank bags Governor’s Challenge Trophy 2017

Considered as Sri Lanka’s most prestigious corporate quiz, Governor’s Challenge Trophy (GCT) for global commerce excellence was held on 3 March for the fourth time at the Galadari hotel Colombo.

The quiz was independently conducted by International Quizzing Association Colombo branch. The event was organised by Shippers’ Academy Colombo (SAC) in association with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

Competing with 43 teams with over 215 participants representing a cross section of the trade, Seylan Bank won the coveted trophy for the second time as it also won the first ever GCT held in 2011, previously 99x and Vindana Ariyawansa had won the trophy.

CBSL Governor Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy was the chief guest and IPS Executive Director Dr. Saman Kelegama was the guest of honour. The Master sponsor for the event was Mastercard and the platinum sponsor was CL Synergy group of companies and the winners’ prize was sponsored by NDB Bank, whilst the official print media partner was Daily FT.
