Seylan Bank conducts seminars for trade clients

Seylan Bank’s International Department conducted a trade seminar at Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle on 27 August 2013 for their trade clients of Ambalangoda, Akurassa, Beliatta, Galle, Hambantota, Koggala, Kalutara, Matara and Tissamaharama branches. Another seminar was held at Ranmal Holiday Resort, Moratuwa on 24 October 2013. The branches covered under this program were Attidiya, Boralesgamuwa, Bandaragama, Dehiwala, Kalubowila, Mount Lavinia, Moratuwa, Horana, Panadura, Piliyandala, Sarikkamulla, and Soysapura. ‘Latest developments affecting the international trade transactions’, ‘Conservation of quality through proper packaging’ and ‘Marine insurance, your freedom to trade’ were the topics covered in these seminars which were presented by Seylan Bank PLC Assistant General Manager-International Sarath Kumarasiri, Kithsiri Wijesundera of KiWi Strategy Consultants and AIA Insurance respectively Assistant General Manager-Motor Insurance Tanuj Edward. Presentations were followed by very interactive Q & A sessions. Each Seminar was attended by nearly 50 participants from various organisations engaged in international trade. All participants were presented with a token of appreciation and hosted for lunch. The seminars were highly appreciated by all attendees and commended the bank’s efforts to impart knowledge on current trends and related fields of international trade finance. Seylan Bank Deputy General Manager-International Aruna Ranasinghe, Deputy General Manager- Zone I Delvin Pereira, Deputy General Manager- Zone III Chitral De Silva, Area Manager Zone I- Chandana Gurusinghe, Area Manager Southern Region Lal Chandrasiri and the branch managers of respective branches also participated in the seminars.
