Seylan Bank wins award for pioneering innovation

Visa International recognised Seylan Bank as the first bank to introduce a pre-paid multicurrency travel card in Sri Lanka and awarded for Seylan Bank for pioneering in innovation. The bank was also the first to introduce the pre-paid rupee and travel card in 2005 and the multicurrency travel card in 2014.

The multicurrency travel card consists of five currencies of USD, GBP, AUD, EUR and SAR in one card and the bank is also looking at expanding the number of currencies, which is in the pipeline for launch in the near future. This card is issued subject to prevailing exchange control regulations.

The Seylan Visa multicurrency card can be used at over 30 million merchant outlets and 2.2 million Visa accredited ATMs worldwide and will make travel extremely convenient and an absolute pleasure. The card can be used for online transactions as well, offering a world of shopping options at one’s fingertips. A medical travel insurance cover of $ 50,000 is offered free and this is useful for most of the embassies when applying for visa.
