Seylan Tikiri celebrates 21st anniversary with a “world of benefits”

Seylan ‘Tikiri’, Sri Lanka’s favourite minor savings account celebrates its 21st anniversary this year with a brand new look and a world of benefits on offer.
Launched in 1992, Seylan ‘Tikiri’ went on record as being the first ever minor savings account in Sri Lanka to introduce a gift scheme. Consistent savings was the major drive as Seylan ‘Tikiri’ soon embraced thousands of children from all parts of Sri Lanka and rapidly grew to become a popular household name.
Over the past 21 years, Seylan ‘Tikiri’ has many achievements and innovative promotions to its credit. It was the first-ever Sri Lankan bank to introduce a mascot in ‘Tikirinja’. There were trips to Disneyland Hongkong, Sentosa in Singapore and Dream World in Bangkok.
Added to this were also the dedicated ‘Tikiri Land’ play area, the Tikiri Russian Dance Kids, bicycle promotions and the Tikiri Fan Club. The Seylan Tikiri Carnival at the Viharamadevi Park is a major highlight in the calendar and attracts 5000+ account holders to a day filled with fun and frolic. Seylan’s Kids Banking Day on the last Saturday/Sunday of every month with its fun and rewards is yet another successful mechanism through which the savings habit is driven further. In order to celebrate 21 years of rewarding children and promoting good savings habits, Seylan Tikiri is coming out bigger, better and brighter with a world of benefits on offer.
A deposit balance of Rs. 500 will entitle account holders to a mug or a water bottle while deposit balances of Rs. 5000 will entitle account holders to school bags or children’s wrist watches. Similarly deposit balances of Rs. 10,000 will entitle account holders to video game pads while deposit balances of Rs. 30,000 will have an MP4 player as a reward. Tikiri Kids will get special gifts as the account balance grows with deposits.
The Rs. 50,000 slab offers either a remote controlled helicopter or if you are under eight years of age a small bicycle. Similarly the Rs. 75,000 slab offers a 54-key Organ, the Rs. 100,000 slab a large bicycle, Rs. 150,000 slab a DVD/Radio set up with high powered speakers, the Rs. 250,000 slab a wi-fi enabled Tab and the Rs. 500,000 slab an LED TV.
Seylan Tikiri goes a step further and offers an attractive bonus interest of 30% for deposits of Rs. 500,001 upwards, 35% for Rs. 750,001 upwards, 40% for Rs. 1,000,001 upwards, 45% for Rs. 1,250,001 upwards and 50% for Rs. 1,500,000 upwards.
