SLIC insurers Mahinda Rajapaksa Nelum Pokuna National Theatre

The nation’s strongest and the largest insurer Sri Lanka Insurance was chosen as the preferred insurance partner, to insure the nation’s most modern and state-of-the-art theatre – The Mahinda Rajapaksa Nelum Pokuna (MRNP) Stadium.  

The policy was handed over to Senior Assistant Secretary (Administration) to the President C.N. Vithanachchi at the MRNP Theatre.

Speaking at the simple ceremony organised to mark the historic milestone, Vithanachchi said, “Careful consideration was given in choosing an insurance partner for Mahinda Rajapaksa Nelum Pokuna National Theatre, as it is a national asset. The reinsurance methods of the Insurer, the long term claim paying ability, the asset base, the technical knowledge the company posses and the international financial ratings were considered when choosing an insurer for this cause.”

He further stated that Sri Lanka Insurance came up top-of-the-list of evaluation, and was confident that Sri Lanka Insurance could meet the liability of any unforeseen calamity that might rise in the future.

Sri Lanka Insurance Chief Officer General Insurance Ainsly Alles said, “As the national insurer we are indeed honoured to be the chosen partner to insure the national theatre, which would be a benchmark in the history of theatre and performing arts of Sri Lanka.”

MRNP CEO Colonel Niwunhella, the senior management of the theatre and the senior management of Sri Lanka Insurance was also present at the occasion.

SLI holds Rs. 98 billion worth of assets under management, the highest life fund of Rs. 56 billion and a service network of over 124 branches countrywide.
