SLII inter-insurance company quiz competition

The inaugural quiz competition organised by The Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII) concluded successfully on 14 May at Excel World.

The event’s Chief Guest was Insurance Association of Sri Lanka President Dirk Pereira. 

The event was an immense success with 25 teams from all the country’s insurance and broker companies taking part.

SLII President Sanjiv Keerthiratne, in his welcome speech, said the institute’s aim was to initiate events and activities with the intention of keeping the industry vibrant and maintaining fellowship within it.  This was no doubt achieved at this event.

The teams participated enthusiastically and showcased excellent knowledge in the areas of insurance, history, geography and science, literature, entertainment, current affairs and IQ/logical reasoning.  

HNB Assurance Plc-Life emerged champions while Janashakthi Insurance General Ltd. were the first runners-up and Union Assurance General Ltd. emerged as the second runners-up.

The Quiz Mistress, Dr. Dinuka Wijetunge of the University of Colombo, did an excellent job conducting the quiz and kept the crowd stimulated for the entire two and a half hours.
