Reiterating its commitment to the Southern Province, Softlogic Finance PLC has opened two fully-fledged branches in Tissamaharama and Weligama, in response to strong demand for financial services from customers in the area.

The opening of the Weligama branch at 325/A Matara Road, Weligama and Tissamaharama branch at No 28, Main Street, Tissamaharama, positions Softlogic Finance to provide enhanced access and a superior service to customers in the area. The two fully-fledged branches will offer the company’s full range of services including Business Loans, Fixed Deposits, Gold Loans, Group Personal Loans, Leasing and Hire Purchase and Savings. They will be open for business during week days from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

The two branch openings strengthen the company’s presence in the Southern Province to four fully-fledged branches and across the island to 33 locations – consisting of 24 branches and nine Gold Loan centres. In a bid to further strengthen its operations in the Southern Province, the company, which has opened seven branches so far this year, is expected to open yet another new branch in Matara in September.

The senior management of Softlogic Finance attended the opening of the Tissamaharama and Weligama branches while the company’s CEO Nalin Wijekoon was the Chief Guest.

“Softlogic Finance is fast-expanding its branch network, as reflected by these recent branch openings and we are increasingly strengthening our presence in areas underserved by financial institutions, thus assisting customers to fulfil their aspirations,” Wijekoon said. “We will continue to focus strongly on further enhancing customer service by simultaneously strengthening the physical and IT-related infrastructure.”

Together with the opening of its Weligama branch, Softlogic Finance launched its ‘Clean Zone’ community initiative with company officials actively participating in promoting awareness on the importance of garbage segregation and recycling among area residents. The company intends to eventually add a 100 km roadside extent to its Clean Zone network, in which Softlogic Finance will facilitate greater cleanliness by entering into partnerships with the respective Municipal Councils for the areas declared as Clean Zones to be cleaned at shorter intervals than before.

To further promote garbage segregation, each Softlogic Finance branch which forms part of the Clean Zone will display separate bins dedicated for the disposal of plastics, bottles and non-recyclable material. A 1km extent (500 m extent to both sides of the Weligama branch) will now be added to the Clean Zone network.

Softlogic Finance PLC is part of the Softlogic Group that has interests in Healthcare, Retail, Financial Services, ICT, Leisure, Automobiles and Restaurants.
