Over 1,300 attended this year’s ceremony. The day belonged to the sales personnel who have proved their ability through sheer dedication, hard work and clear pursuit of their goals, making them the best in the insurance industry. The night was celebrated on a Formula 1 winning theme with much glamour and grandeur, featuring many unique entertaining acts that kept the audience spellbound.
The Star Awards night saw 364 best insurance sales performers and team leaders being awarded for their excellent sales performance. They were all awarded on the basis of achieving the set sales targets and standards. The second and third place achievers were also invited to witness this magnificent evening to applaud the achievements of their colleagues.
Best regional sales managers, team leaders and advisors were recognised under their respective business categories of Life and Non Life Insurance business, with special certificates and cash awards. The best of the best in this category was presented an attractive plaque in addition to the cash awards and certificates.
Speaking at the event, Sri Lanka Insurance Chairman Upali Dharmadasa voiced his appreciation and gratitude to the sales force who are the backbone of the company, for their dedication and commitment towards taking Sri Lanka Insurance to its vision of being the number one insurer in the country.
Managing Director Piyadasa Kudabalage in his speech congratulated and expressed his appreciation on the dedication and commitment of all achievers and requested that all should align to take Sri Lanka Insurance to the pinnacle of the business world.
Chief Guest Dr. Amunugama in his keynote speech stated that Sri Lanka Insurance is a beacon in the State sector and through efficient and proper governance has been able steer forward as one of the most trustworthy companies in the country, while commending the performance of the achievers
Sri Lanka Insurance, the largest State-owned composite insurance provider in Sri Lanka, is the first insurance company to have been assigned a global rating for financial stability AA (lka) from Fitch Ratings, London which is an assurance of the company’s long-term financial sustainability.
Sri Lanka Insurance is the only insurer who was awarded RAM Ratings AAA for its ‘long-term claim paying ability’, which further affirms the corporation’s capacity to meet financial obligations to policyholders.
The company has also been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for correct governing and operational procedures in line with accepted global standards, which is further endorsed by the recent international awards the company has claimed which includes World Quality Commitment Gold Award in 2011 in Paris, the Platinum Award 2012.
The company was awarded by the World Finance Award London as the Best Insurance Company in Sri Lanka for four consecutive years.
