Standard Chartered recently appointed Pardha Saradhi as its new Chief Risk Officer. Pardha comes in to replace Aruni Goonetilleke who has moved to Singapore to assume a new role within Standard Chartered.
The Bank’s Risk Division will be further strengthened by the inclusion of Pardha who has over 17 years of experience in Corporate Banking, covering both Credit Risk and Relationship Management, as well having held leadership roles in many regions in India. He will be based in Colombo reporting functionally to Venugopal Ranganathan, Regional Credit Officer, South Asia and locally to Anirvan Ghosh Dastidar, Chief Executive Officer, Sri Lanka.
Commenting on the appointment Ghosh Dastidar said: “Pardha will continue the good work our Risk team has been doing and the team can look forward to drawing on his extensive experience and capabilities. We are delighted to have Pardha on the Management Committee heading our Risk Division”.
Pardha, who is an avid sportsman has run 4 half-marathons in the last year, commenting on his appointment stated: “It is wonderful to be part of the Sri Lanka team and I look forward to adding a new dimension to the service and support we offer to both our internal and external customers. I am also looking forward to exploring all that Sri Lanka has to offer both as a sportsman as much as, as a banker. This is an exciting time to be here, with a blossoming economy and a greatly coveted Heads of State Forum just concluded”.
Pardha will also serve on the Sustainability Leadership Team (SLT), championing the sustainability agenda for Sri Lanka and contributing to its Living with HIV agenda. He will work closely with the Bank’s team of spokespersons on behalf of the virus to address stigma and discrimination as well as raise awareness of the syndrome.
