Standard Chartered Bank Sri Lanka, as part of its continued effort to add value to its credit card services, has unveiled a series of exciting offers to its Credit Cardholders.
The bank has partnered with one of the leading fashion stores ODEL, to offer a 30% savings on the total bill on 25 June 2011 at the Kohuwala outlet. This offer will be a treat to all Standard Chartered Gold, Platinum Privilege and Platinum Credit Cardholders. Avail yourself of this fantastic opportunity to look good and be fashionable.
The bank has also partnered with Softlogic Communication, to offer a 10% savings on any Nokia Phone at any Nokia Care Centre island-wide. This offer begins on 24 June 2011 and ends on 3 July 2011. What’s more, the cardholder can opt to re-pay the purchase price in equal monthly instalments up to 12 months.
Platinum Privilege and Platinum Credit Cardholders wishing to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge can avail themselves of a savings of 20% at any of the Bank’s partner restaurants – LongFeng (Cinnamon Lakeside), Sea Spray (Galle Face Hotel), and Golden Mile. Additionally the Bank has partnered with more than 10 other restaurants namely – Emerald and Tandoor at the Ceylon Continental, Fortune Boat, Curry Leaves, La Rambla Restaurante – where a savings of up to 10% available to all Standard Chartered Credit Cardholders until 31 January 2012.
The Bank also provides a 30% savings at Eden Resort and Spa – Beruwela until 31 July 2011 and a 10% savings until 31 October 2011.
SCB has partnered with hotels of the Jetwing Group of Hotels, Amaya Hills – Kandy, Amaya Lake – Dambulla, Deer Park Hotel – Giritale, Elephant Reach – Yala, Pigeon Island Beach Resort – Trincomalee and John Keels Hotels including Cinnamon Lodge – Habarana, Chaaya Village – Habarana, Chaaya Citadel – Kandy, Chaaya Blu – Trincomalee, Bentota Beach Hotel and Yala Village, where a 10% savings is applicable to all Standard Chartered Credit Cardholders until 15 December 2011.

We hope to further expand our portfolio of rewards in our efforts to provide the best deals to our Credit Card customers,” commented Shehani Rozairo, Head of Cards and Loans of Standard Chartered Bank.
Standard Chartered said it was the only Bank to offer the highest redemption value on its loyalty programme ‘Bonus Points’. All Platinum Privilege, Gold and Classic Cardholders receive one Bonus Point for every Rs. 200 spent on their Credit Card both locally and overseas. Every point is valued at one full rupee. Standard Chartered Platinum Cardholders continue to receive as much as two full rupees or two frequent flyer miles for every Rs. 100 spent.
Accumulated points can be redeemed at a range of participating outlets including Arpico, Hameedia, ODEL, Mondy, Hilton Colombo, any restaurant at Cinnamon Grand and Cinnamon Lakeside, The Mango Tree, Angsana Spa, Vijitha Yapa Bookshop. Points are also redeemable for travel rewards on KrisFlyer, Asia Miles, Jet Privilege and SriLankan Airlines.
Standard Chartered Credit Cardholders may also channel all payments (including those of other Credit Cards) through one institution, with an interest payment of only 1.5% for the first 6 or 12 months, offered by Standard Chartered Bank through the ‘Credit Ease’ facility. Thus, customers no longer need be burdened with having to keep track of all their Credit Card bill payments but can avail themselves of this opportunity.
Furthermore, through the ‘Loan on Card’ easy loan facility, Standard Chartered Credit Cardholders have the option of obtaining a loan at interest rates as low as 1% - 1.5% per month up to 36 months.
Cardholders can also settle their banquet bills on their Standard Chartered Credit Card and repay in three or six instalments at 0% interest. Partner hotels include Hilton Colombo, Cinnamon Grand, Cinnamon Lakeside, Galadari Hotel, Galle Face Hotel, Mount Lavinia Hotel, Ceylon Continental, Ramada and Waters Edge.
"In order to assist our customers with their health and wellness, we have also partnered with Durdans Hospital, Lanka Hospitals, Nawaloka, Oasis, Ninewells, Asiri Surgical, Hemas Hospital and Joseph Fraser. This facility allows customers to settle their hospital bill in three or six at 0% interest. To convert any banquet or hospital transaction over Rs. 25,000, all a Cardholder needs to do is to call the Bank on 2480480 within 48 hours of performing the transaction," SCB said.
It charges only a monthly interest rate as low as 2% on all retail and cash advances. This coupled with an unparalleled loyalty program, dining privileges, free travel insurance and easy settlements plans at 0% interest, SCB said its credit cards are most attractive.
