Suresh to leave HDFC Bank in August

Senior banker Suresh M. Amerasekera has given notice of resignation from the post of General Manager and CEO of HDFC Bank with effect from 8 August, 2011.

He held this post since October 2008. Amerasekera is a senior banker with nearly 30 years of experience in commercial banking. He had his initial training at the Colombo branches of State Bank of India, Bank of America and Citi Bank. He was attached to Seylan Bank as an Assistant General Manager in charge of Colombo suburban region with 15 branches, till he joined HDFC Bank.

He holds a MBA (International) from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting awarded by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK. He also has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Asset Liability Management from the Post Graduate Institute of Management.
