Tanky appointed Senior Director of HNB Board

N.G. (Tanky) Wickemeratne has been appointed as the Senior Director of the HNB Board with effect from 1 April 2013. He succeeds Pamela C. Cooray who has completed nine years as a Director at HNB and will be retiring from office with effect from 31 March 2013 as per corporate governance directions for commercial banks by the Central Bank.

Appointed as a Director in July 2009, Tanky is a former Chairman of Hayleys PLC and Chief Executive of Dipped Products PLC from its inception to 2007. He is a Director of Finlays Colombo PLC.

He had chaired the Sri Lanka Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Rubber Products, served as a Committee Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and had been its representative on the National Labour Advisory Council. He is the past President of the Sri Lanka-France Business Council.
