Thilan Wijesinghe honoured by American Academy of Financial Management

Thilan Wijesinghe, former Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, was honoured as a Fellow and a Master Financial Practitioner award at the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM), from Chandran Rutnam, a veteran film maker and a fellow of the American Academy of Financial Management at a function which was held recently at Royal Colombo Golf Club. Rajkumar Kanagasingam, representative of the Academy in Sri Lanka and Maldives was also present.
Wijesinghe’s career, which spans 25 years with a successful track record in corporate leadership, entrepreneurship and public service, was considered for these honorary awards. He has functioned as Chairman, Managing Director/CEO and Executive Director of private and state enterprises since 1992, having generated significant shareholder wealth in businesses managed and co-owned.
Rutnam was earlier honoured with a Fellowship and Master Financial Planner award for his leadership in bringing a large number of Hollywood films to be shot in Sri Lanka and Malaysia, and his pioneering ventures in the aviation industry by launching Lionair, an airline now ceased in operations and the Asian Aviation Centre, an aeronautical engineering and flying academy.
