Trade Finance Association of Bankers holds AGM

The 18th Annual General Meeting of the Trade Finance Association of Bankers (TFAB) was held recently in Colombo amidst a large gathering of trade staff of all banks in Sri Lanka. The following were elected as new office bearers for the year 2015/2016: Thushy David (Deutsche Bank) – President, Sunil Wanniarachchi (People’s Bank) – Senior Vice President, Manjula Gunawardana (NDB) – Vice President, Susantha Fernando (Seylan Bank) – Secretary General, Manoji Hettigoda (Sampath Bank) – Treasurer, Shyam De Silva (HNB) – Assistant Secretary and Lawrian Somanader (Commercial Bank) – Assistant Treasurer, The following were elected as Council Members: Gaya Manamperi (Past President- Formerly at Sampath Bank), Chathura Rudesh (Sampath Bank), Sanjeewa Jayasuriya (Standard Chartered Bank), Kasun Muthukuda (Nations Trust Bank), Senaka De Silva (NDB Bank), Neil Handapangoda (Citi Bank), Tharusha Mahawaduge (HSBC), Jehan Perera (Pan Asia Bank), Kanchana Liyanage (Union Bank), Waruna Senanayaka (DFCC Vardhana Bank), K.G. Ratnayaka (Bank of Ceylon), K R Naguleswaran (Public Bank), and A.S.M.W. Kumarasiri (People’s Bank). Ex-officio – Ranjith Haputhanthiri (Immediate Past President – Bank of Ceylon) The primary objectives of the association include the exchange of views among members and other individuals and/or organisations on matters related to trade finance, promoting consistency in trade finance practices among bankers and in engaging in educational activities for members and other practitioners of trade finance by holding lectures, seminars, workshops and other activities.
