Union Assurance Shines at 50th ICASL Annual Report Awards

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) recently concluded its Golden Jubilee Annual Report Awards Ceremony, with award winners being recognised for financial and non-financial reporting excellence. Recipients of the awards come from a variety of sectors, bound by the common thread of responsible, credible, and accurate reporting. First conducted in 1964, the Annual Report Awards aims to create a platform to promote transparency in financial reporting while enhancing reporting standards in keeping with global best practices. These awards have become a benchmark for many leading corporations in the public and private sectors, signifying excellence in financial reporting.

The Company was recognised with the silver award in the insurance industry – making the Union Assurance Annual Report 2013 one of the best reports from the sector this year. At the same time, the company also secured two bronze awards for excellence in corporate governance disclosures, and management commentary.
