Union Assurance strengthens bancassurance network with 100 tabs

Union Assurance PLC (UA) recently strengthened its bancassurance network by distributing 100 tablet PCs to its staff attached to the Commercial Bank, bancassurance operation. Commencing a partnership with the bank in 2010, UA has achieved a steady growth in presence with 126 locations and added virtual offices that total the whole operation up to 220 locations. This island wide partnership between UA and Commercial Bank has seen opportunities to offer a wide range of insurance solutions to customers, thereby providing greater protection to Sri Lankan lives and livelihoods. By empowering bancassurance staff with the latest technology, UA aims to provide access to quotations, monitor leads and policy lapses online and in real time while servicing walk in customers at any Commercial Bank branch quickly and conveniently. The tabs are able to give an overview of products to the customers, and also close sales while making the entire buying experience of insurance simpler and efficient. UA hopes to continue the project by distributing more tabs to bancassurance staff at other partner banks in the near future. “The tablet devices will assist UA bancassurance staff to securely log into UA systems wherever they are, allowing quick access to products and services – a convenience that will ultimately benefit the customer. The tabs will also improve the communication between bancassurance staff and UA while improving relationship building with customers in the long run. Union Assurance recently introduced the Digital Advisor Toolkit (DAT), a tri-lingual application compatible for both laptops and tablet phones. It was developed to assist the field force of UA to propose different insurance solutions and covers to their valued customers.
