Union Assurance ties up with eZ Cash

One of Sri Lanka’s top insurers, Union Assurance PLC, has become the latest addition to the eZ Cash merchant network, giving its 250,000-plus subscribers the opportunity to pay UAL insurance premiums through their eZ Cash wallet, either directly through their mobile or at any of the 20,000-plus eZ Cash merchant points island wide. 

Sri Lanka’s pioneering mobile money network, eZ Cash, the world’s first end-to-end inter-operable mobile money service offers subscriber’s unparalleled reach to send and receive money from rural villages to bustling cities.   

eZ Cash, the winner of the Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Money Service at the GSMA Awards 2015, is a state-of-the-art mobile money technology that enables subscribers to maintain a mobile money account in their phone.

Using eZ Cash, customers can send and receive money between more than 14 million, Dialog, tisalat and Hutch mobile users, plus settle utility bills and make payments for other goods and services direct from their mobile phone.

eZ Cash was launched in June 2012, under the aegis of the Payments and Settlements Act No. 28 of 2005. Custodial Banking Services for eZ Cash are provided by Hatton National Bank PLC, and further secured by a trust agreement administered by Deutsche Bank AG.
