Union Assurance wins ‘Best Insurer Technology Award’ at Asia Technology Awards 2012

Union Assurance (UA) won the prestigious Best Insurer Technology Award 2012 for the Integrated Customer Service Solution (ICSS) system developed for motor claims. The award recognises excellence and innovation in the use of technology within the insurance industry in the Asia Pacific Region.

This year’s winners were selected from a highly competitive field that included 29 nominations from India, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.



The Asia Insurance Review and Celent held the 2012 Asia Insurance Technology Awards (AITAs) in Singapore in the month of November. The award ‘The Best Insurer: Technology Honours’ were presented to the insurer who had made the most progress in embracing technology across the organisation.

Special features integrated in the Customer Service Solution developed by UA includes seamless multiple systems enabling smooth call centre operations and effective tools to assist technical engineers and claims staff – both which assisted to elevate this product to an award winning position.

“The customer service solution project also includes a highly responsive motor call centre, a GPS-based tracking system and the use of Android smartphones with built-in applications to support the activity of the technical engineers to reach the ultimate objective of speedy claims payments to their customers,” said Wenli Yuan, Senior Analyst, Celent.
