The SLITAD People Development Awards 2015 organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development was held for the third time on 26 November at Galadari Hotel, Colombo. Union Assurance PLC were proud recipients of the Gold award for the third consecutive year at this flagship event to recognise the people development initiatives by leading corporates in Sri Lanka.  

Furthermore, for the very first time in recognition of achieving the Gold award for three consecutive years, Union Assurance PLC was one of two organisations to be awarded the Diamond award, the highest recognition awarded by SLITAD. This epitomises the effort UAL takes in developing people and the efforts of HR and L&D departments were duly recognised.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Training and Development (SLITAD) have the primary objective of bringing together institutions from the Government, Industry and Education to evolve and develop HRD and T&D practices in Sri Lanka.

The awards were presented to organisations that scored beyond the minimum standards of the following 10 criteria: Business Strategy, Learning and Development Strategy, People Management Strategy, Leadership and Management Strategy, Management Effectiveness, Recognition and Rewards, Involvement and Empowerment, Learning and Development, Performance Measurement and Continuous Improvement.
