As a preferred bank for Small and Medium Enterprises sector (SMEs), Union Bank of Colombo Plc (UBC) launched free advisory services to the SMEs as a value addition to further build this segment. In a series of training programmes organised under this initiative, UBC recently conducted a workshop to SME customers in Batticaloa.

Coordinated by the Batticaloa Branch of UBC, the programme themed Entrepreneur Development covered areas such as competency development for SMEs and key areas of the Kaizen model, 5S concept and time management. Sivaloganathan from the National Productivity Secretariat facilitated the programme with the support of the UBC management.

Union Bank’s focus on the SME sector provides the bank an edge in a competitive market as a bank small enough to be flexible to the growing needs of the SME customer and large enough to fuel their success to greater heights and offers a comprehensive product portfolio to support the growth of the sector.
