Union Bank now onboard Apple and Android stores

Union Bank of Colombo PLC announced the launch of its mobile banking app for Android and Apple platforms creating greater banking convenience for customers. The new mobile banking app will epitomise an unbroken union with the bank even when a customer is mobile.

Rajeev Munasinghe, Vice President – Information Technology at Union Bank said: “This is yet another milestone in the bank’s IT initiatives.” Union Bank has been synonymous for its technologically driven product innovations. In 2012, Union Bank also pioneered the launch of TV banking creating a new dimension in banking in Sri Lanka. Munasinghe further stated that it is the only mobile banking app that is currently available in Sinhala, Tamil or English. The Union Bank mobile banking app can be downloaded free of charge. This facility provides convenient banking for Union Bank customers across the country and complements the bank’s rapidly growing branch network. Union Bank has also launched ‘serisara’ mobile banking, yet another technology driven initiative where the bank will go to the customer’s doorstep and carry out banking transactions which will include cheque deposits, and all transactions will be real time online. The project kicked off from Union Bank Wennapuwa branch. As a bank of choice for Small and Medium Enterprises, Union Bank continues to forge ahead whilst leveraging its strengths on service and technology to offer a superior value proposition to customers.
