Strengthening its focus of delivering financial solutions to Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) businesses, Union Bank opened its first SME Centre at the Gampaha branch located at 6, Asoka Gardens, Colombo Road, Gampaha. The centre was ceremonially opened on 10 December 2012.

The Gampaha SME centre brings together expert SME banking products and advisory services under one roof. In addition to SME banking products such as working capital, trade finance, import and export credit, leasing and factoring and micro finance, it offers several special services including video conferencing for speedy loan approvals, free advisory services through ‘Viyaparika Saviya,’ internet banking and SME credit information.

The opening of this dedicated SME centre marks yet another milestone in Union Bank’s commitment of becoming the preferred bank for small and medium enterprises and retail sectors.  The bank offers a comprehensive range of financial solutions with flexibility and customisation to meet the growing needs of this segment.

Union Bank will see the opening of more SME Centres in the country as part of the bank’s endeavour of becoming the bank of choice for SMEs. Union Bank’s focus on the SME sector gives the bank an edge in a competitive market as a bank small enough to offer flexibility to the growing needs of the SME customers and large enough to fuel their growth to greater heights.
