Union Bank takes its SME focus to Kebithigollewa

Union Bank of Colombo PLC (UBC) opened its 40th Branch in Kebithigollewa on 9 July 2013 adding to its rapidly expanding branch network. The new branch is located at Padaviya Road, Kebithigollewa and was ceremonially opened by Union Bank Director / Chief Executive Officer Anil Amarasuriya in the presence of Ven. Dhamma Rakitha Thero of the Halmillewa Sulugal Dambulu Viharaya. The opening ceremony received an over whelming response with a large number of SME and retail customers gathering to transact with the bank on its opening day. Currently, Union Bank is the only private commercial bank in Kebithigollewa and the new branch will support entrepreneurs and businessmen in the area through a comprehensive portfolio of customised SME financing facilities and advisory services. Union Bank has evolved as one of Sri Lanka’s fastest growing banks focusing on the small and medium enterprises and retail sectors. The bank’s expansion is honed and specifically geared to grow the SME and retail portfolio and complements the bank’s vision and journey of becoming the preferred bank for SMEs. The bank’s extensive expansion plan will see the opening of more branches across the country, expanding the bank’s network to fifty branches by the end of this year.
