The third year undergraduates of the University of Colombo’s Business Administration degree program visited the Colombo Stock Exchange recently. The group of 120 undergraduates was introduced to the basics and inner working of Sri Lanka’s dynamic Stock Exchange through a discussion and a visit to the trading floor.

The field visit was organised by the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Management and Finance with the aim for facilitating firsthand knowledge to the undergraduates of the degree program. Undergraduates specialising in finance, business economics and international business were part of the visit.

President of the Rotaract Club Lishan Wickramanayake stated: “The Sri Lankan economy is growing at a phenomenal pace and we need to make sure that our undergraduates are in line with the demands of economy. By organising such programmes we hope that our BBA students can identify the trends in the market and make appropriate changes to help them be better managers in the future.”

The University of Colombo’s Faculty of Management and Finance is internationally rated the number one business school in the country and offers Bachelors of Business Administration degrees in eight different specialisations.
