Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo organised an intimate gathering to appreciate all those who made the recently concluded 10-day Thai Food Festival a success, as well as share part of the festival’s profits with the victims of the Easter Sunday incident as part of the Hotel’s CSR initiatives.

Ambassador of Thailand in Sri Lanka Chulamanee Chartsuwan joined John Keells Holdings Vice President, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts Head of Food and Beverage/Culinary and Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo General Manager Rohan Fernandopulle and the team at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo for the event at the hotel’s Queens Court.
Fernandopulle thanked Chulamanee Chartsuwan for her immense support to add to the festival’s ambiance and atmosphere, by flying in a troupe of dancers, craftsmen and food carvers, giving diners a true feel of Thailand in Colombo. The Ambassador, her team from the Royal Thai Embassy in Sri Lanka, and the dance troupe and food carvers who were flown in especially for the event were recognised for their contribution and efforts.
In addition, Fernandopulle also recognised the great efforts put in by his team at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, which included Executive Chef Kapila Jayasinghe, Thai Master Chef Bongkot Sabpong and the teams from F&B, Kitchen, Kitchen Stewarding, Engineering and Housekeeping.
While celebrating the success of the Thai Food Festival 2019, those in less fortunate circumstances were also remembered. Initiated on the request of the Ambassador as part of their partnership, and the generosity of the hotel, the occasion also included an initiative to give back to a community affected by the Easter Sunday incident.
This was done through a donation made from the proceeds of the Thai Food Festival 2019.
Chartsuwan commended the efforts of the Cinnamon Lakeside team for their support. The donation was handed over to Hemas Outreach Foundation Consultant Psychotherapist Dr. Ravindra Ranasinha, who is currently working with the Life Healing Centre church in Katuwapitiya to help the members of the community recover from the trauma inflicted by the in
