Sri Lanka’s first authentic Ramen Japanese restaurant Makotoya recently opened its doors at plush One Galle Face Mall.
Makotoya is a chain of 40 restaurants around the world and Sri Lanka is its latest destination. Most of the ingredients they’ve got here are flown all the way from Japan and the food is cooked by Japanese chefs.
Aside from Ramen, Makotoya also has a few rice-based specialties like donburi and fried rice, as well as a range of classic Japanese appetisers.
At Makotoya, diners can customise their own bowl of ramen. The restaurant has the standard items but guests can pick the meat, choose extra ingredients, and adjust the spicy level of the broth, as well as the boiling level (hard, soft, medium) for the noodles.
