The Galadari Colombo’s ‘Sri Lankan Food Festival’ was a treat for all, with anything and everything in authentic Sri Lankan cuisine on offer. The festival was at the hotel’s Coffee Shop from 14 to 17 March from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sri Lankan food lovers got to indulge in the country’s traditional food favourites that have created an international stir. The festival conjured up traditional dishes which included mouth-watering accompaniments and desserts too. Diners experienced traditional chicken curry and fish preparations as well as a gamut of many other dishes. The main attraction included live cooking of the much-loved sweetmeats such as kavum, kokis and much more. Guests indulged in the live cooking of hoppers, string hoppers, pittu and rotti to name a few. The entire Lobby was transformed into a Sri Lankan themed ambiance where the traditional Sri Lankan coffee shop the ‘Kopi Kade’ could be experienced. There was a cultural show and oriental music to further heighten enjoyment. The festival was an experience to relish Sri Lanka’s traditional cuisine in a typically village ambience that was so close home
