HNB partners Hilton Colombo to celebrate Oktoberfest 2019

HNB Plc yesterday announced its partnership with Hilton Colombo to celebrate the most anticipated Bavarian festival, Oktoberfest, for the seventh consecutive year.

Taking place continuously for the past 27 years, the Hilton Oktoberfest is widely known as one of Colombo’s biggest and most festive celebrations. Taking place from 31 October to 9 November, the Hilton Oktoberfest offer guests an authentic Bavarian experience covering everything from music to a plethora of delicious brews all served up in style at the Hilton Sports Centre Arena.

“For many of our hardworking customers, the start of the Hilton Oktoberfest signals that the year is winding down to a close. Over the past 27 years, this festival has very much become a kind of modern tradition for a more cosmopolitan Colombo. HNB is therefore pleased to once again partner this fun-filled event and, in the process, offer our valued cardholders privileged access to the festivities,” HNB Retail Banking Deputy General Manager Sanjay Wijemanne said.

HNB Classic and Gold cardholders will be entitled to a 15% discount from 31 October to 9 November, while Platinum, Signature, Infinite and MasterCard World, Corporate and Business cardholders will be entitled to a discount of 25% from 3-7 November and a 20% discount on 1 and 2 November as well as on 8 and 9 November.

The much-anticipated festival will feature a range of unique brews and authentic German staples such as Thüringer Rostbratwurst; Pork Schnitzel; Knuckle or even the Schweinebraten (pork shoulder); assorted German cakes; Streusel Kuchen - baked apple and apricot crumble; Black Forest; Linzer Torte and Apple Strudel prepared by German Executive Chef Robert Mujagic and his gifted culinary team.

The Oompah band from Bavaria is set to take the stage together with traditional service girls from Munich dressed in the ‘Dirndl’ traditional Bavarian costume, to create an authentic Oktoberfest experience. A host of popular games such as the chicken dance, power hammer, brew competitions and daily raffles are also set to be held on each day of the festival.

Tickets for the event are priced at Rs. 2,888 nett from Sunday to Thursday and Rs. 3,888 for Friday and Saturday, inclusive of an authentic Bavarian buffet.
