If you are still looking to taste an authentic Peri Peri Chicken dish while sipping your favourite beverage within an easy reach from anywhere in Colombo, the best place to enjoy it with calm and quite surrounding is the Hawker Park – the latest restaurant and pub at the ground floor of the Trillium Luxury Boutique City Hotel in Colombo.

Being the most popular and Hawker Park’s signature dish, Peri Peri Chicken is fresh chicken marinated overnight at a controlled-temperature in a secret marinade consisting of locally sourced ingredients and a 25 minutes slow cooking to get a succulent taste for mouth-watering indulgence.

“Hawker Park was launched to provide guests a selection of Trillium Hotel’s exclusive dishes and beverages in a casual environment at more affordable prices,” Trillium Property Management and Services Chairman and CEO Janaka Ratnayake said.

Hawker Park is having very exclusive dishes from simple stakes to expensive dishes, which are available only in two places in Colombo and one is the Hawker Park.

The three varieties of Shawarmas – chicken, lamb or vegetarian – are made with a special localised Middle and Eastern marinade and grilled in a shawarma machine to get a distinctive original taste.

Next to other popular dishes that Hawker Park offers are pizzas, burgers, kottu, nasi and mee gorang and crackling pork belly apart from other Western, Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

“Pizzas have a very competitive market from the popular pizza joints in the city and suburbs. We make our special pizzas here. These home-made pizzas with thin crust, have four varieties chicken, cheese, Norwegian Salmon and vegetable but we are the only restaurant that makes salmon pizzas,” Ratnayake said at a recent media briefing held to announce the opening of the Hawker Park and its latest offers.

Hawker Park’s freshly baked burgers are another popular choice among the young guests who step into the rusty looked restaurant in the hotel’s basement which has easy access from the road and with a separate car park.

“We import cheese especially for kottu and it is our one of the fastest moving dishes. We managed to keep the traditional taste of kottu by using locally sourced ingredients from the market,” he said.

Juicy and crackling pork belly, which is grilled and neatly served on tapas plates, is another dish in demand at the restaurant.

“At the rooftop, we have a lounge and bar – The Church – that offers classical beverages – cocktails and mocktails. Since the rooftop beverages are a bit expensive, we have decided to open the new pub and restaurant in the basement, which is affordable for anyone. There, we offer exclusive dishes for our guests at very affordable prices and our beverages are at the reach of everybody’s need,” Ratnayake said.

The rooftop lounge – The Church – which is overlooking greenery with an undisturbed view of the Colombo’s skyline is ideal for romantic evenings and private parties.

The Mezza 9, the semi-fine dining restaurant which offers exclusive signature dishes, is a better choice for a family evening. It has a fully equipped 10-seater private dining room.

Ratnayake said that the ground floor had been converted to a restaurant with a very rustic look and a calm surrounding to offer their guests a more comfortable environment.Opened recently and with a full house on weekends with over 160 guests, the Hawker Park is an ideal restaurant that offers food and beverages for anyone at an affordable price and one of the best hideout to relax after a heavy day.

Company directors, Rachitha Ratnayake and Lekhya Ratnayake were also present at the media briefing.
