In a world where life is a rat race, a good cup of coffee has gradually evolved into a vital part of our lives. Everyone from workaholics to students and even the artistic ones often look to a finely brewed cup of coffee to provide them with a boost of energy to either kick start their day, a dose of inspiration or a means to wind down after a hard day’s work. With a coffee culture that has evolved into a lifestyle in the city of Colombo, the city’s favourite coffee house chain Barista through its signature outlet Café Mocha is extending its menu to include comfort food to go with your preferred Lavazza coffee.

Café Mocha by Barista is now a part of Stratford Avenue’s budding ‘art scene’ with Gandhara and many other artisan outlets opening doors in the vicinity. To keep with the theme, the café has adopted minimal lighting, stone finish bare walls that give it a rustic look, the likes of John Lennon, Che Guerra and Audrey Hepburn adorning the walls and of course the distinct aroma of freshly brewed coffee.

Unlike a regular coffee chain outlet, Café Mocha boasts more seating and an environment that is great to hang out with friends after work. Café Mocha is today a buzzing hub where great coffee and great food combines with sincere service and the right ambiance. Café Mocha is home to an extensive menu that offers a wide range of delicacies and the latest additions come all “wrapped up” in wholesome goodness.

Topping the new range of wraps is a combination of Chicken and Apple Slaw packed in to a paper thin wrap. The Grilled Chicken Wrap is the spicier version of the two with large chunks of grilled chicken and the works.

For those who prefer baguettes to wraps, Café Mocha is also introducing several new baguette sandwiches to their famous sandwich range. The Chicken Salami Baguette is a must-try for those folks who love indulging in a protein filled meal. If you’re preference is seafood then the Caribbean Style Tuna Baguette or the Tropical Prawn Baguette will definitely satisfy your taste buds. Café Mocha doesn’t leave out the ever-growing vegetarian population either with a Fried Tofu Baguette. These new wraps and sandwiches are not only delicious and satisfying but will also be easy on the wallet at prices between Rs. 450-550.

Café Mocha remains open till 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends which is one of the biggest plus points for those who get hungry a little later on in to the night. Coupled with some of the friendliest waiters and award-winning baristas Café Mocha by Barista is a one of a kind café experience.
