Continuing its gastronomic journey across the globe, The Dining Room at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo makes its next stop in the diverse land of Indonesia.
Starting 14 August, diners will be able to experience the true flavours of a cuisine that has been influenced by a multitude of cultures, ranging from India to Spain.
While regional dishes vary in cooking techniques and ingredients, Indonesian food is rich in spices. Vastly popular amongst Sri Lankans, the nasi-goreng is often known as Indonesia’s national dish although there are many other contenders. While diners will be able to savour the authentic flavours of this famous dish, other favourites such as opor ayam, the rich, coconut milk braised chicken dish and gulai kambing, a spicy stew of succulent lamb, will be some of the other delicious items on the menu at The Dining Room.
Complementing these dishes will be sambal, the most famous Indonesian condiment. Made from various spices including chili, shallots and shrimp paste, it is served as a side dish or as a substitute for fresh chili. Of Javanese origin, sambal is found in cuisines across Southeast Asia in a variety of flavours.
The journey to Indonesia will continue from 14 August until 25 August at The Dining Room, between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Offered at Rs. 2,555 all inclusive, the buffet is a celebration of exotic flavours, colours and textures amidst the ambience of a star class restaurant.
The Dining Room at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo is a melting pot of cosmopolitan culinary extravagance. Open 24 hours, the restaurant presents cuisine from around the world and offers its patrons a buffet or A la carte menu option.
