Premier five-star city hotel Cinnamon Grand Colombo boasts of 14 restaurants, offering the largest selection of dining options for a hotel in Sri Lanka. Among its signature restaurants is Tao, a unique fusion restaurant that creatively combines the flavours and techniques of the East and the West, introducing interesting tastes to those with an adventurous palate.565

Set in a tranquil location, overlooking the koi pond and the azure pool, Tao is a space that invigorates the spirit with the zen-like, calming vibe it presents. Much like the name, the restaurant aims to create a balance, in taste and through the atmosphere.

With over 70 dishes to enjoy, inclusive of a vegetarian menu featuring 15 varieties, Tao’s menu has been carefully put together, balancing an Eastern and Western blend of ingredients and techniques to present the best of both worlds on a plate.

Where else would one get to enjoy the likes of coconut marinated grilled salmon pave with Moroccan couscous and red curry cream; marinated pork chop with kang kung, peppered mash and wok fried vegetables; wok fried noodles with gadogado vegetables, grilled cuttlefish, scallops, prawns and garoupa in Asian marinades; Hokkaido scallop carpaccio in green curry emulsion; tempura mussels stuffed with chilli pepper and mushroom served with wasabi mayo; chocolate cheesecake with strawberry cream and grape jam quenelles – some of the most popular dishes at the restaurant.

For those who would like to experience a fusion feast, the Epicurean Menu on Thursdays is bound to be a favourite. With seven starters, three soups, seven main courses and seven desserts – this 24 dish meal is a true celebration of Asian and Western culture.

Open for dinner only, Tao is a ‘must-try’ dining experience. For reservations, call 011 2497369.
