International restaurant giant Burger King has opened the doors of its newest outlet down Jayathilaka Mawatha, Panadura.
The new outlet is located in the same building as the iconic home-grown fashion retail brand Odel, which is also a part of the Softlogic group. These two great brands under one roof bring much convenience for shoppers giving them a complete shopping and dining experience in one place.
Panadura is a busy suburb full of activity, with a good middle income populace and was thereby seen as the perfect new addition in Burger King’s expansion strategy for Sri Lanka. This is the 12th outlet opened by the food chain which has other outlets located in Colpetty, Mount Lavinia, Rajagiriya, Arcade Independence Square, the Central Hospital food court, Kandy City Centre, Liberty Plaza, Negombo, Fort (Colombo 01), Wattala and the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The arrival of the world’s renowned burger chain promises to be a welcome treat for the city’s residents who have thus far had a limited selection of international quick service restaurants to patronise.
Diners can choose from a deliciously diverse menu featuring not only world-renowned products such as the Whopper – Burger King’s legendary flame grilled burger, and the iconic Hershey’s Sundae Pie, but also uniquely Sri Lankan items that have been created especially to suit the local palate.
All these are very reasonably priced with desserts starting at just Rs. 60, burgers at Rs. 230 and sides such as Thick Cut French Fries starting from Rs. 200. The extra value local favourite “Royal Lunch” is priced as low as Rs. 250 which comes with yellow rice, spicy curry chicken, veggie salad and a soft drink.
Apart from the flagship products and special deals, the Burger King menu also caters to kids with its variety of delicious kids’ meals which come with a free toy.
Burger King has enjoyed tremendous success in the short time since its launch by franchisee Softlogic Restaurants Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings PLC which is one of Sri Lanka’s foremost, dynamic conglomerates, with leading market positions in the country’s growing economic sectors; retail, healthcare, ICT, automobiles, leisure and financial services.
Softlogic holds Authorised Distributorships for key global brands and today, employs over 9,000 people in its offices located in Sri Lanka and Australia.
