Celebrate Chinese New Year at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

  Celebrate the Chinese New Year at Cinnamon Lakeside as the hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant Long Feng lays out a festive feast for both lunch and dinner from 18 to 20 February. Steeped in tradition and myth, Chinese New Year celebrations, also known as the Spring Festival, starts on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month of the Chinese calendar. The festival lasts for about 23 days, ending on the 15th day of the first lunar month in the following year in the Chinese calendar. This is year; the Goat takes centre stage from the 12 animals in the zodiac, with the unfolding year dedicated to this feisty creature in the Year of the Goat. “It’s a time of great celebration and a revival of mystical rituals to bring in good fortune to welcome the New Year and ward off evil. We have attempted to create a culinary experience revolving around this very special time of celebration with families and friends,” said Long Feng Master Chef Yang. Chef Yang will create a range of specialty dishes in honour of this occasion, with four sets of menus on offer for patrons to choose from. Menus are priced at Rs. 3,400 for lunch and Rs. 3, 750 for dinner. The famous Sichuan fried prawn, deep fried tofu dumplings, sautéed prawn with cheese and butter Macau style and fried lamb with onion and cumin Xinjing style are just a few of the dishes that will be turned out by Chef Yang for families and friends to celebrate the new year in style!
