The culinary team led by the hotel’s very own Chinese Chef Zhiqiang Qui is in the midst of preparations to make available an authentic Chinese New Year spread to all guests who wish to have a true Chinese experience. The year 2015 is the Year of the Goat according to the Chinese calendar. The Zodiac symbol of the goat is a timeless symbol of good fortune. It is believed to usher things that are literally beautiful. The year of the goat is also seen as a period of gains and rewards. Furthermore, from among all the animals, the goat is said to have had the closest relationship with humans in ancient times. The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival is one the most ancient and important festivals and is celebrated across the world. As such, welcoming the Chinese New Year is as important an event in the calendar of the Mount Lavinia Hotel.
