Cinnamon Lakeside commemorates Ramadan month with Iftar buffet

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo welcomes diners of every religious orientation to experience an Iftar Buffet at The Dining Room during the holy month of Ramadan.

Muslims around the world observe the ritual of fasting for a month during Ramadan from sunrise to sunset.  The Dining Room has introduced a wholesome Iftar menu designed to provide the nourishment needed to conclude the fast every evening.  Ramadan is the time of year where Muslims the world over abstain from food and water, devoting their day to praying and doing good.

Families gather to break their fast right at sunset and to share the blessing of the holy month together. The ritual of breaking one’s fast always begins with the consumption of a date and a drink of water.

The Dining room prepares a variety of snacks and refreshments for Iftar including a delicious Middle Eastern Dinner to complete the day’s fast.  Guests can look to break their fast with luscious dates, plain, chicken or beef “kanji” or porridge, samosas, freshly cut fruit, fresh juices and faluda, a traditional drink when breaking fast.  The Iftar dinner buffet has a variety of Middle Eastern dishes on offer such as Humus, Tabbouleh a fresh Arabic salad seasoned with lemon juice and olive oil and an Arabic Mezze platter are amongst the varied spread at the Iftar buffet.  During this holy month Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo is providing guests with separate Ladies and Gents prayer rooms to carry out their daily prayers.
