Eat like a dragon, at the Cinnamon Grand!

A unique feast featuring the exotic flavours of the Far East, Cinnamon Grand’s celebrated Dragon Brunch lays out culinary treats from China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.  With over seventy five dishes to savour, the brunch buffet offers for the ideal way to spend the day with family, friends and mouthwatering food. On from 12 noon till 3 p.m. every Sunday at the hotel’s Courtyard Restaurant, this feast is meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, so each sense-surrendering oriental flavour can be fully appreciated. This extravagant repast is priced at Rs. 1,950 (plus taxes) with special deals on Asian beverages.  Also, children under four feet in height will be entitled to a significant 50% discount, enabling them to delight in the buffet at half price. Having understood that Asian and Far Eastern food is a pet cuisine  amongst Sri Lankans, the Dragon Brunch serves up an array of exquisite delicacies and well as the usual favourites, in a range of appetisers, action stations, salads, soups, mains and Asian desserts. Notably, while most dishes are made with traditional sauces so as to attain the most authentic of Far Eastern tangs, some dishes are flavoured with spices and condiments better suited to the Sri Lankan palate. The brunch offers five rotating menus, with appetisers including an Asian seafood counter with fresh oysters, mussels, prawns and crabs with Thai chilli and lime dressing, wasabi and Kikuman sauce, cucumber and ginger dressing, gado gado, cold roasted pepper beef, smoked bean curd with vermicelli, Thai marinated pot roasted chicken, pork and lettuce rolls with dark soy sauce and rice rolls with spicy chicken, vegetable, fish and prawn filling, to name a few. Also enjoy the freshest of sushi and sashimi with accompaniments, Peking duck station with pancakes, Singaporean style spring roll station with hoisin sauce, sambol olek sauce and chilli soy sauce, dim sum station (seafood and vegetables), steamed dumpling station, Indonesian sate counter (chicken/mutton), Japanese tepanyaki (meat and seafood), Cantonese noodle BBQ and a tempura station, at the actions stations. Choose from ten salad options (or try them all!) and follow it up with a piquant soup, such as a Thai vegetable and green mango soup, sweet corn and egg drop soup or Penang assam laksa (seafood soup served with fried shallot, spring onion and Chinese celery) Take your time with the mains, with combinations of Chinese fried rice, Malaysian nasi goreng vegetable noodles, U-dong noodles and Singapore style fried mee hoon accompanied with seafood specialties, including oysters, mussels, prawns and crabs, meaty indulgences, including beef, chicken, lamb and pork and regionally popular vegetable dishes.
