Offering Sri Lankans yet another chance to indulge in their cravings for ice cream without any guilt, Elephant House today launched Mango Lite – a low calorie variant of its widely popular mango flavour.
“With growing concern about food and nutrition, more and more Sri Lankan consumers are choosing healthier, lower calorie diets. Being a truly Sri Lankan brand, we at Elephant House recognised their needs and launched our Lite range of ice creams with Choco Lite and Vanilla Lite. Encouraged by the demand for these products, we have now introduced a Lite variant of one of Sri Lanka’s favourite flavours Mango,” said Neil Samarasinghe, Head of Frozen Confectionary at Ceylon Cold Stores (Elephant House) and Vice President of John Keells Holdings.
Coming at a time when the country has taken notice of the rising incidences of lifestyle disorders, the entire Lite range uses an internationally approved sweetener in place of actual sugar or sucrose.
By doing so, Elephant House has offered consumers an opportunity to give into their cravings without the fear of it having an impact on their wellbeing. Going beyond removing sucrose from the equation, this also keeps the calorie count per serving significantly low making it the ideal choice for the health conscious consumer.
Mango Lite is available in 500ml packs.
