Hilton Colombo will be hosting a 1 Star Michelin Guest Chef at Spoons to commemorate the 12th day of the 12th month in 2012. A special four course menu prepared by Guest Chef Roland will be served at Spoons on 12 December during dinner.
Award winning Bocuse d’or silver medalist Chef Roland hails from Belgium and has over 25 years of experience in fine dining cuisine. After training at Ceria and an early career in areas such as the renowned Radisson SAS Brussels, Roland Debuyst opened in 1993, his own restaurant, ‘Orangeraie Perfume South’.
For a place tinged with Provencal atmosphere, tribute to an area he loves so much in the kitchen, he focuses mainly on work with textures, as he likes to surprise the taste buds of his diners. He loves competitions and won the first prize, Prosper Montagne (First Cook Belgium) in 1995, which marked the first step towards Bocuse d’or 1997.
In May 2005, Roland decided to close his gourmet restaurant and launched ‘Orange Food Fashion’, a trendy hotel in which he served contemporary cuisine. The success was immediate. Then he continued with the recovery in 2007 from the beautiful brewery Mariadal in Zaventem, and in 2011 the prestigious 2 Star Michelin Bijgaarden turned into a luxury brasserie.
Enjoy this Michelin Star Chef’s and the hotel’s very own Bocuse d’or finalist Buddika Samarasekera’s gastronomic menu on this special day. For more details and for reservations, please call the food and beverage office on 2544644 or log onto www.facebook/thehiltoncolombo
