The Steak and Grill House at the Taj Samudra, a charming restaurant overlooking the manicured lawns of the hotel is a great place for outstanding Continental Fine Dining. Seating just 32 persons, this cosy restaurant offers the perfect backdrop for an intimate dinner. The restaurant serves a choice of steaks, seafood and even select vegetarian cuisine complemented with perfect desserts and an extensive wine list.

Master Chef Saga has knows that the crafting of fine continental cuisine requires only the freshest ingredients especially prime cuts of meat. Tender marination processes are used to bring out distinct flavours with perfect accompaniments for each item. All this, together with the graceful service style and deep attention to detail is bound to have you returning time and again.

The menu is clearly well thought out. Starters include delicately created salads of lobster and prawn, smoked duck breast and cheese fondue true to its classical recipe. The grilled country red pumpkin soup and lobster bisque are favourites too.  If there’s a must try for your main course, Chef Saga would tell you it’s the grilled angus sirloin steak, sautéed tagliatelle with garlic and blue cheese chive sauce – a recipe he’s clearly mastered. The moment you sink your teeth into the grilled Australian fillet steak with crust of green pepper corn and morels flambéed at your table, you’ll discover it’s much more than only a treat for your eyes. For greater variety, the menu includes the pan fried supreme of chicken, grilled green zucchini and ragout of prawn served with orange black pepper sauce and the champagne poached tasmanian salmon with creamed shrimp ravioli. For vegetarians we might suggest the two colour zucchini risotto with sun dried tomatoes and camembert cheese or the lasagne of egg plant, spinach and cauliflower with roasted carrot and coriander sauce.

The desserts at this restaurant are delectably divine – the original Mississippi mud pie tops the list yet you may fancy trying the flambéed pancake with pistachio, orange and butterscotch served with nougat ice cream too.

Indulge in exquisite continental fine dining at the Steak and Grill House, Taj Samudra. The restaurant is open for dinner only.
